Royal Caribbean® remains committed to providing you with the support and service necessary to navigate these extraordinary times. With health and safety at the forefront, we are committed to doing our part to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and have therefore confirmed that the suspension of all cruise operations is now extended through July 31, 2020. This decision is in alignment with guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will allot ample time to further develop our comprehensive return to service measures to protect our guests and crew as we adapt to a “new tomorrow.”

For those currently confirmed on sailings departing June 12–July 31, 2020, and not previously cancelled under our Cruise with Confidence offer, a few options have been prepared for consideration.

LIFT & SHIFT:

  • Our NEW Lift & Shift option is ideal for those simply wishing to move their existing reservation to next year, protecting their original price and promotion. Select next year’s sailing on the same itinerary type, sailing length, stateroom category, and within the same 4-week window of the original cruise date and your clients are all set. Act quickly — option expires on June 10, 2020!

125% Future Cruise Credit:

  • To account for the inconvenience this has caused, guests are eligible for a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) that is based on the total cruise fare paid at the guest-level and will be automatically issued on-or-before June 30, 2020  if neither of the other options is selected. Taxes and fees, as well as any pre-purchased amenities or onboard packages will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment within 45 days from the cancellation date.

  • If you previously opted to take advantage of our Cruise with Confidence policy, the 100% FCC will stand, and this new option is ineligible. Additionally, if your clients redeemed their Cruise with Confidence Future Cruise Credit on a sailing that is now cancelled, your original FCC will be reinstated, plus 125% of any amount paid by the guest on the cancelled reservation.

REFUND:

  • Looking for a refund? No problem! We are happy to return the funds paid per guest when requesting this option on-or-before December 31, 2020. To submit on your client’s behalf, simply complete the new “Cancellation Form” on CruisingPower.com under “Brand Programs & News” and the process will begin.  Your client can expect their refund to the original form of payment within 45 days from the cancellation date. To ensure your client is making the best choice, no need to rush on deciding  the 125% Future Cruise Credit will remain active until the point when a refund request is submitted, at which time it will be deactivated.

  • If you redeemed a Cruise with Confidence Future Cruise Credit on an impacted sailing and would now prefer a refund instead, we are happy to process this request in the amount of any new funds paid above the original certificate and, in turn, will reinstate the Cruise with Confidence FCC for future use.

AmaWaterways Opens 2022 Bookings, Citing Increased Early Demand

CALABASAS, CA – (May 11, 2020)

Award-winning luxury river cruise company AmaWaterways today announced the majority of its 2022 deployment is now open for group and individual bookings - a full six months ahead of previous season openings. All itineraries in France, Portugal, Holland and those traveling the Rhine and Moselle rivers are open for reservations, with added rewards for guests who book early. By May 20, the remaining 2022 river cruise voyages with pre- and post-cruise land extensions will also be available. While the company would typically open 2022 bookings much later in the year, increased demand for 2022 sailings led to early release of the deployment.

“We are excited to open our 2022 bookings six months earlier than originally anticipated, given the heightened demand from individuals and special interest groups for sailings in 2021 and beyond,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “We’ve seen a strong showing for our new offerings, especially with new ships AmaSiena and AmaLucia joining the fleet, and AmaDahlia launching on the Nile in Egypt in September 2021. As pent up demand has already started to surface, I anticipate 2022 will emerge as a very strong travel season and look forward to welcoming our guests onboard.”

AmaMagna_Passau_Germany.jpg

For all 2021 Europe, Asia and Egypt cruises, guests booking by June 30, 2020, will receive 5 percent cruise savings on balcony staterooms and suites plus up to $1,500 savings per stateroom on select departures. Additionally, guests will have until September 20, 2020 to receive 5 percent Early Booking Reward for all 2022 departures*.

Highlight: scenic cruising and world-renowned wine tasting.

Best of Holland & Belgium sailing round trip from Amsterdam onboard AmaSerena on five exclusive departures from May to October. Highlight: Belgium’s special gems, Ghent and Bruges.

Secrets of Egypt & The Nile sailing onboard the new AmaDahlia, this unparalleled 11-night immersive journey tempts guests with a fascinating journey to ancient civilization. This unforgettable itinerary includes four nights in Cairo, seven nights cruising between Luxor to Aswan and offers a host of exclusive experiences, such as a private tour of the tomb of Queen Nefertari and a private lunch at Abdeen Presidential Palace. Highlight post-cruise: extensions to Jordan, Israel and Dubai.

“Our intimate river cruise ships and wonderful crew will be waiting to share these beautiful new experiences with our guests,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “As Godmother of AmaKristina, I am personally thrilled to see her moving over to the Rhône in 2021 on a wonderful cruise between Lyon and Avignon. P&O Cruises Extends Pause in Operations in Australia and New Zealand until August 31, 2020

MIAMI, May 4, 2020

P&O Cruises today announced it has extended its voluntary pause in operations in Australia and New Zealand to August 31, 2020, in response to continuing travel restrictions due to the impact of COVID-19.

P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell said everyone at P&O looked forward to resuming cruise operations as soon as it was safe to do so but it was clear an extension to the pause was necessary while Australia and New Zealand continue to make progress in combating coronavirus.

"Australia and New Zealand have led the world in flattening the COVID-19 curve, which adds to our optimism for the future. However, we also recognise that a further extension is the prudent and responsible course," Mr Myrmell said.

"In the confident knowledge that cruising will be back, this is an opportunity to update our guests on the latest itinerary plans and to thank them for their understanding and support during this period of uncertainty. We look forward to welcoming them back onboard our ships when it is safe to do so."

The changes in operations are:

Australia

The extended pause in operations will affect sailings on Pacific Dawn scheduled to depart Brisbane between June 16 – August 26, 2020. These itineraries are: W031N, W032N, W033, W034, W035, W036, W037, W038, W039, W040, W041, W042 and W043.

Pacific Explorer's cruises from Sydney will now be paused between June 24 – August 24, 2020 and this affects: X027, X028, X029, X030, X031, X032, X033, X034, X035 and X036.

New Zealand

Pacific Aria's scheduled cruises from Auckland will be postponed from July 4 – August 23, 2020:  A036, A037, A038, A039, A040 and A041.

Compensation for cancelled cruises from May 5, 2020

Guests whose cruises have been impacted by the extended pause in operations are eligible for a full refund or a future cruise credit equal to the cost of their original cruise plus an onboard credit offer.

P&O will make direct contact with guests whose cruises have been affected to let them know of this development and apologise for the disruption to future holiday plans.

Travel agent commission will be fully protected for bookings paid in full as at May 4, 2020 and those cancellations that occurred within the final payment date.

CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE ANNOUNCES PLAN TO PHASE-IN SERVICE

MIAMI, May 4, 2020

Carnival Cruise Line just released a memo that says the following:

“Any resumption of cruise operations – whenever that may be – is fully dependent on our continued efforts in cooperation with federal, state, local and international government officials. In our continued support of public health efforts, any return to service will also include whatever enhanced operational protocols and social gathering guidelines that are in place at the time of the resumption of cruise operations.

We are committed to supporting all public health efforts to manage the COVID-19 situation and will continue to keep our guests, travel agent partners and other stakeholders informed.”

Phase in Service:

Carnival Cruise Line advised guests and travel agents today of our plan to phase in a resumption in our North American service this summer, beginning on August 1 with a total of eight ships from Miami, Port Canaveral and Galveston.  In connection with this plan, our pause in operations will be extended in all other North American and Australian markets through August 31.

The key elements of this plan include:

  • All North American cruises from June 27 to July 31 will be cancelled.

  • Beginning August 1, we plan to resume cruises on the following ships:

    • Galveston:  Carnival Dream, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Vista

    • Miami:  Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic and Carnival Sensation

    • Port Canaveral:  Carnival Breeze and Carnival Elation.

  • Other than the above referenced service from Galveston, Miami, and Port Canaveral, all other North American and Australian homeport cruises will be cancelled through August 31.

  • All Carnival Spirit Alaskan cruises from Seattle will be cancelled, as well as the Carnival Spirit Vancouver-Honolulu cruise on September 25 and the Honolulu-Brisbane transpacific cruise on October 6.

  • All Carnival Splendor cruises in Australia from June 19 to August 31 will be cancelled.

Impacted guests and their travel advisors are being notified by email, including options for a combined future cruise credit (FCC) and onboard credit (OBC) package, or a full refund.  Booked guests can make their selection online, alleviating the need to contact Carnival’s customer service center, which is still operating in a work-from-home status due to locally-imposed office closures in South Florida.

We are committed to supporting all public health efforts to manage the COVID-19 situation. We are taking a measured approach, focusing our return to service on a select number of homeports where we have more significant operations that are easily accessible by car for the majority of our guests.

We will use this additional time to continue to engage experts, government officials and stakeholders on additional protocols and procedures to protect the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve.  We appreciate the understanding and support of our guests and travel agent partners and look forward to welcoming them on board as the environment for travel and tourism improves.

Carnival Cruise Line Utilizing Its Ships To Return Crew Members Home

Eighteen Carnival Cruise Line ships will rendezvous in The Bahamas over the next several days as the final plans are put in place to sail nine of the ships to repatriate more than 10,000 healthy crew members who remain on board due to restrictions limiting air travel to Asia, Africa, Europe, India and Latin America.

The ships have been at various U.S. homeports provisioning supplies and bunkering fuel for their journeys.  Certain crew will join ships using water shuttles off the coast of The Bahamas.  Once completed, nine ships will sail to their destinations with crew members from North American-based ships on board.  The remaining nine ships will spend most of their time in anchorage positions in The Bahamas or Panama and eventually all ships will reduce their crew numbers to safe operational manning levels.

“The safety and well-being of our team members continues to be a top priority. Given the pause in our operations, we are committed to getting our crew members safely home to their families. We sincerely thank them for their hard work, patience and understanding during this process.  We would also like to thank the government of The Bahamas for their support of this operation, as well as the CDC, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and local port agencies,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Crew members who will be returning home have undergone a health check and cleared fit for travel by Carnival’s medical team. The company has been working closely with immigration officials in arriving countries on an efficient debarkation process.  All crew members have their temperature taken daily and will do so again during the debarkation process, and follow enhanced operational protocols to ensure the health and safety of the crew.

Prior to Carnival’s pause in operations on March 13, its fleet of 27 ships had nearly 29,000 crew members on board.  Since that time, Carnival has already repatriated more than 10,000 crew via flights and another 10,000 will be traveling on the nine voyages leaving this week.   Approximately 6,000 additional crew will be repatriated by air charters or three ships that already departed from Australia and Long Beach.  By the time all these movements are completed, the Carnival fleet will be down to approximately 3,000 crew members identified for safe operational manning, plus several hundred that will be repatriated as quickly as possible.
