SANTA CLARITA, Calif., May 15, 2023 -- From the cruise line that delivers dream vacations to millions of guests every year, Princess Cruises is celebrating its 40th anniversary sailing the Mediterranean by featuring two of its newest and largest ships there in 2025 – Star Princess and Sun Princess.

The 2025 cruises and cruisetours season offers travelers looking for the ultimate European adventure abundant natural beauty, history and traditions, combined with diverse cultures, all while enjoying a relaxed, stress-free travel experience on six beautiful Princess cruise ships: NEW! Star Princess and NEW! Sun Princess, plus Majestic Princess, Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Emerald Princess.

Voyages aboard ships sailing out of Southampton UK (London) in 2025 - Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Emerald Princess - go on sale May 25, while sailings on Mediterranean-based ships - Star Princess (NEW), Sun Princess (NEW) and Majestic Princess go on sale June 1.

Princess first set sail in the Mediterranean in 1985, and to celebrate the 40th anniversary the new Star Princess joins sister-ship Sun Princess in the Mediterranean for her debut season of cruising. Her maiden voyages depart August 4, 2025, sailing a nine-day Grand Mediterranean voyage to Italy and Greece roundtrip from Rome, followed by a variety of 10-day cruises, also roundtrip from Rome, that visit iconic destinations such as Florence, Barcelona and Mykonos.

Sun Princess will sail a series of seven-day Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona, Rome or Athens, that will visit coveted destinations including Istanbul, Naples and Santorini. 

Both of the cruise line's newest ships offer next-generation features, host 4,300 guests, offer more than 1,500 balconies and 29 restaurants and bars throughout 21 decks. Their groundbreaking design centers on a glass sphere that infuses the Piazza with light and connects guests with dynamic views of the world. Another standout venue is The Dome, a cutting-edge top-deck entertainment space inspired by the tiered cliffs of Santorini.

Highlights of the March through November 2025 Europe season include:

Celebrate 40 Years in the Mediterranean: In addition to Star Princess and Sun Princess, Emerald Princess, Majestic Princess and Sky Princess join the line up for a wide range of seven- to 31-day Mediterranean sailings. Cruises depart from Rome (Civitavecchia), London (Southampton), Athens (Piraeus), Trieste (Venice) and Barcelona.

Guests can choose from exploring the ruins of ancient Rome, Athens and Ephesus to immersing themselves in the art within the Vatican Museum, or the whimsical architecture of Barcelona. They can soak up the culture and cuisine of timeless cities such as Sicily, Marseille and Istanbul and admire the sandy splendor and breathtaking views of Santorini's Red Beach or visit the haunting ruins of Pompeii in Naples.

New for 2025, a 31-day Mediterranean Marvel cruise on Sky Princess offers More Ashore late-nights in Mykonos, Santorini, and Jerusalem/Bethlehem (Ashdod).

British Isles: Emerald Princess and Regal Princess offer heritage and hillside castles on 10- to 14-day cruises from London (Southampton). The rugged Scottish Highlands, welcoming pubs, a look at The Beatles' hometown of Liverpool, and the prehistoric wonder of Stonehenge are just some of the sites to see. And with late-night stays in Belfast, guests can experience the region's lively nightlife.

Northern Europe: Emerald Princess and Sky Princess deliver the beauty of the Northern Europe on five- to 28-day voyages that visit Sweden, Norway, Denmark and more, with select voyages offering late-night calls in classic cities like Copenhagen and Berlin. SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (May 12, 2023) – Princess Cruises, the most iconic cruise line in the world, today revealed the name of its second, sensational Sphere Class cruise ship – Star Princess, which will sail an inaugural season of Mediterranean voyages when she debuts in August 2025.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Star Princess joins Sun Princess as the largest ships ever built for Princess at 175,500 tons and carrying 4,300 guests. The new ship is built on a platform that is distinctly different and unique to Princess, designed to simultaneously embrace the Princess heritage while celebrating the romance of the sea by offering more dynamic, outward views.

While 20 percent larger than any of the line’s existing ships, Star Princess design retains the more intimate settings Princess is known for, with a number of new and incredibly ground-breaking spaces such as:  

• The Dome, a transformational entertainment venue inspired by the terraces of Santorini;

• the next-level Piazza featuring a glass sphere

• the “see it to believe it” Princess Arena, a configurable, technologically-advanced main theater that allows Princess to produce a variety of innovative entertainment concepts; and

• a majestic dining room positioned aft of the ship to deliver unforgettable wake views.

This second Sphere Class ship will also offer a number of spectacular features with an array of exciting new food and beverage concepts; a magnificent, expanded casino; a two-story Lotus Spa; and mesmerizing entertainment headlined by Cirque Éloize. 

Guests also will love the expanded accommodations options with luxurious staterooms and suites, including the new Reserve and Signature Collections. 

Star Princess also will showcase the exclusive Princess Medallion service that extends Princess’ leadership position in delivering exceptional personalized experiences.

The new ship will be the second in the Princess fleet to be powered by LNG fuel technology and also is being built with the most advanced sustainable innovations available.

Star Princess debuts August 4, 2025, sailing a nine-day Inaugural Italy & Greece roundtrip voyage from Rome (Civitavecchia), featuring the destinations of Corfu, Kotor, Mykonos, Santorini and Naples (for Capri and Pompeii), followed by a variety of 9- and 10-day cruises sailing from Rome, Athens or Trieste (Venice) that visit idyllic coastal ports. Star Princess cruises go on sale with the larger Europe 2025 program release on June 1, 2023.

The iconic “Love Boat” brand will re-position its Caribbean Princess ship in late November 2024 to sail eastern and western Caribbean itineraries out of Port Canaveral for its winter season.

Starting November 27, 2024, the 3,140-passenger ship will sail four to 14-day cruises out of Port Canaveral. Itinerary highlights include:

• One departure of a 4-day Turks & Caicos Getaway over Thanksgiving holiday

• Five departures of our 8-day Eastern Caribbean with St. Thomas sailing to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan and Grand Turk

• Five departures of our 8-day Western Caribbean with Mexico sailing to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize City and Roatan (Mahogany Bay)

• Nine departures of our 6-day Eastern Caribbean with Turks & Caicos including Nassau, Grand Turk and either Amber Cove or San Juan

• Combine any of the 8-day and 6-day itineraries for a 14-day vacation

The iconic Love Boat and Cirque Éloize today announced a creative collaboration that will bring three spectacular, original contemporary circus performances to the cruise line’s newest and largest ship.

The immersive, mesmerizing performances are being specially created for The Dome, a new top-deck, multi-level entertainment venue debuting for the first time onboard Sun Princess. The stunning venue combined with the magnificent performances will deliver emotion, color, and music to create world-class and unforgettable entertainment.

The Dome embraces amazing natural sky views both day and night, and utilizes state-of-the-art lighting effects and a hidden stage with state-of-the-art technical capabilities to deliver the perfect setting for three shows that will feature eight brilliant acrobatic and aerial performers.

A driving force in Montreal’s cultural scene for 30 years and seen by more than 5 million spectators, Cirque Éloize creates, produces, and stages content that enchants audiences worldwide. Cirque Éloize weds the circus arts with music, dance, technology and theater to enthrall audiences seeking meaningful entertainment.

• BLUE – Poetic, Universal, Uplifting: A journey into the magical space between ocean and sky where the spirit of love leads the artists through time and space highlighting both the real and the surreal bringing them to realize that no matter how far they go, the spirit of love is always with them.

• COME FLY AWAY – Playful, Musical, Interactive: This performance evokes notions of the 1950’s era Rat Pack and the vibrancy of love. A whimsical retro spectacle in which the bandleader – aided and abetted by his ensemble of misfits – falls head over heels for an audience member. It’s a celebration of the lost art of the chase in which all are willing participants.

• ARTBEAT – Uplifting, Colorful, Positive. This upbeat show celebrates the beauty and joy of living life in full color. SANTA CLARITA, Calif., April 3, 2023 -- Caymus Vineyards and Cabernet Sauvignon are synonymous with wine enthusiasts globally as one of the most sought-after wines to pour and share around the table for special celebrations. Now Princess Cruises is working with this renowned winery to offer the exclusive Caymus Vineyards Winemaker Dinner, available on Princess ships sailing North America itineraries by the end of April, including all Alaska voyages, and across all ships worldwide by late May.

Available in the popular Crown Grill specialty restaurant for $140 per person, the new Winemaker Dinner leverages the expansive expertise of Chuck Wagner, owner and winemaker of the renowned Napa Valley's Caymus Vineyards, to deliver a five-course menu (see below), crafted to complement the tasting notes of his wines.

The dinner, available for 12 guests per seating, will be offered 2-3 times per cruise, based on voyage length, and interested guests can reserve their spot once on board.

Wagner, along with the Princess culinary team, personally selected the wines paired with the multi-course menu served. In addition to Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, he has perfectly matched up the dinner courses with varietals from the family's other offerings, including Caymus-Suisun 'The Walking Fool' Red Blend, Mer Soleil Reserve Chardonnay, Sea Sun Pinot Noir and Emmolo Sparkling.

Chuck now works alongside two of his children, Charlie and Jenny, and the family also makes diverse wines from Napa Valley, other parts of California and beyond. On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse lasting as long as 4 minutes 28 seconds will be visible as the moon’s shadow is cast across parts of the North America, and a view at sea may very well offer one of the best vantage points. The total solar eclipse is one of the three remaining worldwide this decade, and the one visible from North America until 2044.

Princess has adjusted its 15-day ocean-to-ocean Panama Canal cruise aboard Emerald Princess after selling out the 10-Day Mexican Riviera cruise with Total Solar Eclipse on Discovery Princess. During the voyage departing Los Angeles on April 5, 2024 sailing to Ft. Lauderdale into the Mexican Riviera, through the Panama Canal and across the western Caribbean, the 3,080-passenger Emerald Princess will catch the total solar eclipse on April 8 between Cabo San Lucas and Huatulco, Mexico. The itinerary also includes stops in San Juan del Sur Costa Rica, Cartagena, Grand Cayman and Ft. Guests sailing during 2022 holiday season to experience a whole new holiday dining offering—including a new gourmet Thanksgiving menu

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Oct. 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Guests sailing on a Princess Cruises vacation over the 2022 holiday season will enjoy a host of new gourmet dining options and traditional go-to's. Today, the Princess culinary arts team, led by Chef Rudi Sodamin, unveiled the Princess Cruise Culinary Collection of Holiday Menus, a new series of inspired fare available in the main dining rooms throughout the fleet ranging from a Thanksgiving feast featuring five entrees, to the meaningful and fun foods of Hanukkah, delectable Christmas dishes from traditions around the world, and concluding with a sparkling New Year's Gala menu.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday period, Princess will offer dozens of sailings to ports of call around the world. No matter where they happen to be in their itinerary, each ship will recognize the American Thanksgiving holiday on November 24 in high style—with festive autumnal decorations, and Thanksgiving-inspired activities with football broadcast on outdoor big screens. Of course, the centerpiece of the Princess Cruise Thanksgiving celebration will be the elaborate Thanksgiving feast.

"Growing up in a large family, holiday meals were always extremely important to me and a source of excitement and anticipation. But it wasn't until I was an adult and went to work at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City that I learned about the American tradition of Thanksgiving where food is the undisputed star of the show," said the Austrian-born Sodamin, head of Culinary Arts for Princess Cruises. The four-course Thanksgiving menu offers a choice of five entrées. Naturally, there will be juicy whole roasted turkey served with apple sage dressing, giblet gravy and the rest of the traditional American Thanksgiving trimmings like caramelized sweet potato, brussels sprouts and whole cranberry sauce. Vegetarians will appreciate the offering of homemade potato gnocchi with roasted butternut squash and sage in a light Champaign-parmesan cream or the grilled vegetable mille feuille with roasted red pepper sauce. The other entrées on offer are a grilled jumbo shrimp and seared sea scallops combination with a tomato-caper beurre blanc and a festive pineapple-glazed ham spiked with cloves served in a pineapple-bourbon sauce with mashed yams. SFT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Princess Cruises today revealed a stunning new and bespoke ship platform that is the brand's largest ship ever that will accommodate over 4,000 guests. The new Sun Princess boasts stunning views, expansive venues, innovative entertainment venues, multi-story dining rooms and next level stateroom accommodations while remaining true to the smooth clean lines and design aesthetics inspired by the Seawitch icon and popularized in the original "Love Boat" TV series and returning the venerable "Sun Princess" name back into operation.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard and scheduled to debut in early 2024, the 175,500-ton vessel is the largest Princess ship ever constructed and embraces Italian heritage by featuring a next-level, brand-iconic Piazza and The Dome, a cutting-edge entertainment space inspired by the terraces of Santorini. Sun Princess will also feature the exclusive Princess Medallion that will extend Princess's leadership position in delivering exceptional personalized experiences at unmatched scale.  Princess is unique in the ability to deliver incredible cruise ship amenities typical of the largest ships in the world while delivering personalized service found on the industry's smallest ships.

The cruise line also announced that Sun Princess will sail an inaugural spring/summer season of Mediterranean cruises followed by Western and Eastern Caribbean voyages out of Port Everglades, Florida in the fall of 2024.

Innovative Guest Experience
Infused with light, the ship connects guests with dynamic views of the world and innovative experiences, from service to food to entertainment. The line's Piazza spans three stories, forming an iconic architectural feature offering guests an outward looking suspended space with comfortable seating and areas to enjoy the ocean views in every direction. An impressive LED screen is also showcased in the center of the Piazza that can be moved and configured to deliver live entertainment programming. Adjacent to the Piazza Atrium will be a new coffee shop, Coffee Currents, Bellini's Cocktail Bar, along with Princess favorites like Crooners Bar and Alfredo's Pizzeria.

The other stand-out structure onboard Sun Princess is The Dome. Inspired by the terraces of Santorini, it is a multi-level covered deck and first-of-its-kind true glass-enclosed dome ever constructed on a cruise ship. During the day, the Dome features an indoor/outdoor pool, and unique water feature, in a comfortable and relaxed space. At night, the pool becomes a stage, and the Dome completely transforms into an entertainment venue with a South Beach vibe, state-of-the-art lighting effects and the ability to deliver stunning aerial performances.

The ship's overall interior design embraces the outside and celebrates the romance of the sea, offering outward views from morning until night. With brighter and lighter décor and finishes, Sun Princess delivers more memorable vantage points to take in the stunning destinations and ocean vistas guests want to experience on Princess cruise vacations.

Newly Appointed Suites and Staterooms
With 2,157 total staterooms, including 50 suites and 100 connecting rooms, the 21-deck Sun Princess features more outdoor balcony space and all balcony accommodations feature an in-room sofa.

Also launching exclusively on Sun Princess will be a new level of suite accommodations, the Signature Collection. In addition to premium stateroom amenities, Signature Collection suites include access to the Signature Restaurant, Signature Lounge, and Signature Sun Deck, a private area of the Sanctuary.

With Sun Princess, Club Class accommodations onboard this ship, and all Princess ships will now be called Reserve Collection, which are the best-located mini suite staterooms. Within the Reserve Collection will be Reserve Collection Cabana rooms, resort-style staterooms that offer a balcony and private cabana, an extra-large outdoor lounge space. These premium accommodations also include access to the Reserve Collection Restaurant.

In addition to the ship's stunning design are the sustainable elements being engineered in the vessel. Sun Princess is part of Carnival Corporation's green cruising focus and is one of 11 new ships in the corporate fleet powered by LNG fuel technology.

The inaugural season for Sun Princess begins in early 2024 with Mediterranean itineraries. The ship's first three voyages will go on sale at 3pm eastern on Friday, September 16.   

This is the third ship to be honored with the Sun Princess name, adding to the legacy of the first ship sailing from 1974 to 1988 and the second ship sailing from 1995 to 2020. At that time, she had the largest number of balcony cabins, and the cruise line's first 24-hour cafe.

Discovery Princess Officially Named by TV Star Godparents

Randy Fenoli, Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Adam Savage and Page Turner Christen Princess Cruises' Newest Ship In Traditional Maritime Naming Ceremony

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., April 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- In an imaginative ceremony today at the Port of Los Angeles, television stars and show hosts united as godparents and officially named Discovery Princess. The godparents included fashion designer Randy Fenoli, chef Alex Guarnaschelli, special effects designer and fabricator Adam Savage, and real estate broker and flipper extraordinaire Page Turner.

Standing together at the Retreat Pool on the open deck of Discovery Princess with the ship's Captain Gennaro Arma, they pronounced, "We name this ship Discovery Princess. May God bless her and all who sail on her." They then sent a giant Nebuchadnezzar-size bottle of champagne against the ship for the celebratory smash, officially welcoming Discovery Princess into the fleet of Princess Cruises, the world's leading international cruise line and leader on the west coast.

The "Discover Our World" themed ceremony blended maritime tradition with contemporary elements, celebrating the cruise line's exclusive, seven-year Discovery at SEA™ program – bringing the spirit of curiosity and exploration to every cruise through branded experiences like Shark Week at Sea, exclusive shore excursions and onboard activities such as the Camp Discovery youth centers and Stargazing at SEA.
